In Italy, we'll drive through the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside connecting all the hill-town dots, see a ceiling fresco masterpiece NOT by Michelangelo, eat rustic bruschetta, walk a vineyard that goes all the way back to Etruscan times — and more, all while exploring a string of hill-capping medieval towns that somehow manage to keep their heads above the flood of the 21st century.
The old collides with the new in Rome, where visitors can sample both traditional and creative cuisine, classic architecture, avant-garde galleries and endless nightlife options.
Tuscany offers a "dolce vita" mix of hearty cuisine, fascinating history, and gentle beauty. First we'll learn about the original Tuscans — the ancient Etruscans — at Volterra's Etruscan Museum, then we'll tour a hill town that was important to both the Etruscans and the Romans, head into the woods for a truffle hunt, eat slow food Italian-style during Sunday lunch in Chiusure, and finish in Montepulciano, where we'll get passionate about the local wine.
If you are thinking of going to Italy, here are some tips on what you can do and where you can go! These are some of the things that we did there:

A Rome walking tour is a great way to discover the city. Dario Andreucci, from Mind the Guide, invited us to take a video of his guided Rome Walking Tour.
